Scottie has dedicated his life to the love of Musical Theatre. He has been teaching theatre and dance since 1999, starting at his dance studio in Colorado Springs with his mentor and friend Betsy McClenahan. He is an award winning performer, director and choreographer in Children’s Theatre and with professional adults all over California. He cofounded Napa Academy of Performing Arts At Lucky Penny Productions as the Artistic Director and Teaching Artist. He led a Children’s Theatre program with Sacramento Theatre Company and also he spent some time at Missouri Street Theatre, in which he worked with their Summer Camp program for several years and Directed and choreographed many of their youth productions. He spent the last several years working with the award winning Bay Area Children’s Theatre. During his time with BACT he directed and choreographed numerous productions and he even had the privilege of working directly with Disney Theatrical’s Theatre Education staff. Through BACT he also has spent two summers in Shanghai, China with Shanghai Children’s Art Theatre teaching musical theatre to kids on the other side of the world! He has had quite a successful turn as a director and choreographer in several productions including: Lucky Penny Productions', Stockton Civic Theatre's and Berkeley Playhouse’s productions of The Little Mermaid; Godspell (which received 11 Arty awards); 110 in the Shade; Annie; Forever Plaid; Plaid Tidings; Andrews Brothers; A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum; The Marvelous Wonderettes; and Mary Poppins.
